Hyderabad:The murder of a 75-year-old woman at Krishnanagar in Kushaiguda limits was allegedly triggered by the accused’s reported caste-based hate. The deceased, Kamala Devi, had reportedly asked the accused Krishnapal to carry out household chores.

Krishnapal, who comes from an upper caste family, worked at the hardware shop on the ground floor of the victim’s residence. The accused reportedly disliked the victim ordering him around, and felt humiliated. The source claimed that it was technically challenging for the teams to trace the accused.

A complaint on the murder was lodged by Kamala Devi’s cousin Sajjan Prakash Chowdary. Krishnapal is absconding.

According to sources, Krishnapal after murdering Kamala Devi sent a video to her relative in Bengaluru, who reported the matter to the police. The video evidence, which was sent to the Rachakonda police, showed his direct involvement, sources said.

It was suspected two of his friends were associated with the murder and the trio were detained. However, Kushaiguda inspector Bhaskar Reddy did not respond to calls when Deccan Chronicle contacted him.
