Mother Dairy is raising milk prices by up to ₹2 for a litre from April 30 on the back of higher procurement costs. It added that this was only partially passing on the impact of higher procurement costs.

The rates will be revised in Delhi-NCR, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Uttarakhand markets with effect from April 30, 2025.

“Mother Dairy is constrained to revise the consumer price of its liquid milk by up to ₹2 per litre, effective from April 30, 2025. This price revision has been necessitated to address the significant increase in procurement costs, which have gone up by ₹4 to ₹5 per litre over the past few months,” it said in a statement.

With the price hike, a 500 ml pack of full cream milk will go up to ₹35 from the existing ₹34. Similarly, a 500 ml pack of toned milk will be hiked to ₹29 from the existing ₹28.

The surge in procurement prices is primarily driven by early onset of summer and heatwave conditions.

“We remain committed to ensuring the consistent availability of quality milk to consumers while supporting the livelihoods of our farmers. This revision represents only a partial pass-through of the increased costs, aiming to equitably serve the interests of both farmers and consumers,” the company added.
