Twelve-time world champion Reanne Evans lost five successive frames as Poland’s Antoni Kowalski completed a 10-4 World Championship qualifying victory in Sheffield.

England’s Evans, 39, who last won the title in 2019, won the final frame before the break to trail 5-4 at the English Institute of Sport.

Kowaklski surged ahead after the interval and the 21-year-old’s third break of 63 sealed Evans’ fate.

This year’s championship takes place in Dongguan, China, between 20 and 27 May.
