A backhoe stolen in South Dundas Township and a Mercedes reported stolen in Ajax, Ont., have been recovered from a location in Limoges, the Ontario Provincial Police reported Thursday.

A news release said the OPP’s East Region Community Street Crime Unit had recovered the stolen vehicles, worth a combined value of nearly $100,000, after a search of a property on Limoges Road on March 26.

A 50-year-old Ottawa resident was charged with two counts of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000. He was released from custody and scheduled to appear in court at L’Orignal on April 30, police added.

Limoges is about 45 kilometres southeast of Ottawa.
